   Let your creativity fly in this Make & Take workshop with woodworker and craftsman DJ Kitzel alongside to help you design & build a homey one of a kind bird house work of art.  Join us in Hunt Country's historic barn to make you avian visions come true.  

   Birdhouses can be more than useful.  A creative and fufilling pass time to build on your woodworking skills.  As well as a home for your favorite feathered friends.  Add a little paint, hardware, & found objects from nature & suddenly you have an avian villa!  

Workshop Overview:

DJ Kitzel has created yet another awsome workshop to help hone in on some basic woodworking skills and tool use. 
All tools, fasteners, paint, and instruction provided to build your "base" birdhouse, of your design. 
Over the course of two days DJ will guide you through the design and build to make your piece unique.  
You can enjoy a walk on the Hunt Country grounds and woods to find objects from nature to adorn your birdhouse. 
Also, you are welcome to bring found objects, old hardware, relics, and treasures to incorporate into your finished project.  

This workshop is designed for any skill level woodworker who sees beauty in natural materials, found objects, enjoys creating from scratch... 
And loves birds of coarse!

Preparation:

Participants should dress appropriately for woodworking, wear sturdy shoes, and bring a water bottle and snacks. 
We also recomend you bring safety glasses, work gloves and any personal tools you wish to use.

Food & Beverage:

We encourage you to eat a hearty breakfast before arriving at Hunt Country.
Coffee, tea, and water will be provided throughout the day.
Participants are also welcome to bring a vessel of water/hydration and snacks to get you through the day.
Lunch will be provided by a local caterer.  Please let us know of any dietary restrictions.

One glass of happy hour Hunt Country wine will be provided at the end of the day.
Additional wines by the glass or bottle, wine tastings, local beer and picnic snacks are available for purchase.  
We will have LIVE MUSIC by David Miller in the tasting room on Saturday from 1:30pm to 4pm if you wish to end your day with some entertainment.

Instructor: 

D.J. Kitzel is a man of many talents.  He posesses over 30 years experience in traditional trades such as stonemasonry, building, furniture building, and woodwork.  And, almost as many years experience as a certified English teacher and licensed wilderness guide.  He has worked on historic structures and new builds across Rochester and the Finger Lakes region while pursuing a life-long interest in these traditional trades.
