Hunt Country Vineyards wins
Best Pinot Gris in New York

Hunt Country Vineyards Pinot Gris 2006 was awarded Best Pinot Gris in blind tasting by a panel of distinguished wine judges at the 2007 New York Wine & Food Classic competition.  The event took place at the American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts in Napa, California on August 7 and 8.

"We are very gratified to receive this recognition for our first Pinot Gris ever", said owners Art and Joyce Hunt.  "It's a tribute to the craftsmanship of our winemaker Christopher Wirth."  Wirth first fell in love with Pinot Gris years ago in Oregon, before he and his wife Joanne returned to their native New York.  Christopher commented, "I am so happy to be producing again this delicious wine.  Our new Pinot Gris exhibits a lovely balance between delicate fruit flavors and floral and mineral notes.   Joanne and I pair it with smoked salmon topped with mango salsa  (click here for the recipe).  The combination is a slice of heaven!"

Hunt Country's Pinot Gris 2007 is available from the winery in Branchport, at www.HuntWines.com  and at selected wine stores and restaurants throughout New York.
