1st Annual Hunt Country Dog Walk

Saturday, June 13, 2009
11:00 am to 3:00 pm

Not only was this event a huge success, it was also a blast!  We had an amazing time meeting all of you and your beloved canine companions (please click here to view a video from one of our attendees).  It was so nice to see the community turn out in in such large numbers (over 50 dogs were present!) to support the Humane Soceity of Yates County.

Vendors and demonstrators from far and near were in attendence with their wares and services; they included Ruff Stuff Dog Toys, For Claudia's Sayke (natural dog care products), K-9 Kids, and those featured below.

  • A special thank you to Yates County Sheriff's Deputy Brandon Jensen and his canine partner Argo, a Belgian Malimois (see pictures) for coming up to demonstrate police dog work and training

  • We are also indebted to Gail Furst, from K-9 Healers, who spent a lot of time helping us to organize and find donations for this event (Gail is pictured below in bright green Dog Walk T-Shirt)

We would like to say a very special thank you to Debbie Agee, from Oenophilia (a supplier of fine gift items in the Tasting Room), for her generous donatoin of a gift basket (with over $125 worth of items!) for the raffle.  We appreciate your kindness and support of the event.

Also available for sale was a custom T-Shirt, in a variety of colors, featuring the dogs of Hunt Country Vineyards - we still have a few for sale in our Tasting Room.

A portion of the proceeds from all sales (vendors and Hunt Country's Wine & Gift Shop), as well as the registration fee & raffle fees, were donated to the Humane Society of Yates County - totaling more than $1,000!

Attendees received unlimited walking time on our premarked trails through the vineyards and woods and a complimentary winetasting (grape juice for the kids!).  Here are some fantastic pictures (courtesy of Tasting Room employee Charlene Blankley) of the event...
