Gold for Vignoles and moreFive wines from Hunt Country Vineyards garnered major awards at the 11th Annual Jefferson Cup Invitational Wine Competition held in Kansas City, Missouri on November 19-20, 2010.
Hunt Country's Vignoles 2009 reached the final round of competition for the Cup, and received a prestigious Jefferson Cup Nominee award.
The Jefferson Cup is the only wine competition that honors the best of the best among wineries from all of America’s wine regions. The Jefferson Cup competition was created and is run by Doug Frost, one of only three people in the world to hold both Master of Wine and Master Sommelier degrees.
Four other Hunt Country wines were singled out as "Examples of American Greatness" (equivalent to a Gold medal in other competitions): Classic Red (2010 blend), Semi-Dry Riesling 2009, Valvin Muscat 2009, and Vidal Blanc Ice Wine 2007.
All five wines are currently available for sale at HuntWines.com, at the winery and at selected wine shops in upstate New York.
